The game was quickly getting away from the refs early on but they must have had a quick pow wow. Its the most physical game I’ve seen Duke play this season and it won’t be the last. As teams are under manned and outplayed by Duke, they have to resort to two tactics: playing more physical and finding ways to get into the head of Duke players. The two go hand in hand obviously and thats exactly what FSU tried to do.
Fortunately Duke wasn’t having any of it. FSU did a farely decent job at keeping the Devils to a low point total at the half but Duke did the same. Gerald Henderson finally played like he should be playing his entire career at Duke. The Devils quickly pulled away in the second half.
FSU made a run late as Duke was having troubles at the line, but the big lead was too much for the Seminoles to handle.
I’m looking forward to the UNC/Wake game tonight. It would awesome if they start out 0-2 in the conference
Duke continues to roll early in the ‘fun’ season before the real games start. They ousted Presbyterian and Georgia Southern very handily. Singler had good games on both nights as is come to be expected from the sophomore.
I’m not going to post much more than that. These games are kinda boring but at least the starters get to ‘warm up’. I particularly haven’t been too impressed with both of the games first halves, as I was expecting more of a blow out or pull away early on.
It is nice to see Scheyer starting and after last year I think he deserves it.
Looks like Redick is playing pretty well this preseason. So much it appears he’s got a real chance of earning (keeping) that playing time he’s missed.
Brian Schmitz over at the Orlando Sentinel has this observation.
“Van Gundy even went as far to say that Redick is executing “defensive principles” better right now than Bogans and rookie Courtney Lee. “Keith is still a better individual defender,” Van Gundy said. “J.J. makes fewer mistakes.”
Redick worked overtime all summer building muscle and trying to improve his quickness. It seems to have paid off. “
Well I’ve been meaning to start updating the site again and guess what?…Its about that time. Basketball season started a few weeks back, well, at least preseason, but thats enough to make me excited!
The downfall is I won’t get to see Redick play Saturday night but thats life. I’ll have to mark my calendar for the next one.
I’ve also upgraded our Wordpress blog to the latest and greatest and it brought back out links at the top. They previously disappeared early this year and I never had enough time to fixing them. Now I don’t have to as they’ve magically reappeared after the upgrade !

Another band wagon Carolina run from its fan base. This past week the Tarholes made it to Omaha for the baseball world series. Fans Bandwagon fans came out of the wood work once again to cheer on the team they couldn’t name the lead off hitter for.
I think we know who you are. The bandwagon fan talks trash at work. The team loses. The bandwagon fans fails to mention or talk about the baseball team that lost this past weekend. They are indeed hillarious.
I do know one thing, they are 0-3 in their run for the title. Much like the basketball team thats gone 0-2 in the past 2 years. Now that they have their lineup back again, lets see if the basketball team can go 0-3 like their baseball team.
Wow! As great as the game was last night…nothing is as important to the Carolina fan base as seeing ‘ol Roy in the crowd. I have to be honest, I never saw the controversy at first. I didn’t even notice “the sticker” that has everyoneriled up. On the way to work it was absolutely hilarious listening to all of the Tarhole callers complaining about Roy’s sticker. You know what, they’re all right! Who the hell wears a Jayhawk sticker after getting their asses handed to them less than 48 hours ago? Theres nothing more I love as a Dukie than listening to all the whiners come out of the wood work. Maybe there’s a job in Kansas thats coming up soon that we don’t know about. Maybe he knows something we don’t.
