Last night the Orlando Magic beat the 76ers and took a 3-2 game lead over the 76ers.
Several things changed for the Magic last night Howard knocked Lee out of the game with an accidential elbow to the face (Lee is out at least 1-2 weeks with a fractured sinus). With this action Redick and Pietrus had to step up and provide offense as well as defense in Lee’s place. Redick scored 6 points, but his shooting was off. To Redick’s credit his defense has stepped up to such a degree that he was able to shutdown the player that he was guarding, because of this Redick started the 4th period of the game last night.
The other thing that has changed was that Howard threw an elbow at one of the 76ers and had a tech foul called on him for this action. It should be noted that the other player was holding on to Howard even though the action was over in that area of the court. That part of the game is being reviewed by the NBA and Howard may be suspended for game 6, even with this the Magic are confident that they can beat the 76ers in game 6 at Philly tomorrow night.
In this writers opinion it is up in the air if Howard gets suspended, but considering that Howard is one of the Team Captains he should show more self control. His actions may cost the team and there cannot be a next time if he really wants to show everyone that he is a Team Captain and not something else instead.
