Bobby Knight, coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, has resigned effective immediately. Bobby was best known for making Indiana one of the best basketball programs ever. He’s downfall was he harsh coaching habits that were once looked upon as simply being strict years ago, and no longer being able to coach how he wanted too without having a magnifying glass on top of him from all angles.
The whole timing is very peculiar and will no doubt be “investigated” by the media but at the same time if you know Bobby Knight he really doesn’t care what the media thinks. Jerry Tarkanian mentioned to Rivals.com that he “hopes its not a health related issue” because the resignation comes in the middle of the year.
My best guess. He doesn’t care what people think and he’ll do what Coach Knight wants to do and when to do it. Here’s to hoping he learns to relax a little while life is short.
